Dear Friends,

How are you all I hope well and happy? Friday the 29^th of February there is Satsang (evening of meditation and chanting) at the L.O.T.U.S. Yoga centre in Mojacar. This is an inspiring evening and an opportunity to meet like minded people. Entrance is by donation could you kindly bring some fruit, nuts, chocolates (more chocolates) to share at the end of the evening. Musical instruments are welcome to assist and enliven the chanting. No experience is necessary. We are also holding an open day at the L.O.T.U.S. Yoga centre on Saturday march the 15^th from 11-5. We will be holding this day to raise money for the centre and for the charities it supports and to let more people know about this wonderful centre. We are holding a market stall so if you have any ‘stuff’’ like books, dvd’s, household goods, music, jewellery, etc could you kindly donate it to the stall, you could bring it to the centre on Monday’s between 2-.2.30

And Thursday’s at the same time, or any other time you visit the centre for a yoga class (or this Friday’s Satsang) it will be very helpful of you. We are also having lunch on the day so if you would like to bring with you a vegetarian dish to share will all. (Let me know if you are willing to make a dish please and what it is, so we don’t have 10 green salads!! You can also make cakes, breads etc.). We also need chairs and some trestle tables on the day do you have any to lend us please let me know). Below are more details about the day. Come and join us on this fun and inspiring day bring your friends, family and neighbours!!!  

LOCATION You’ll find the L.O.T.U.S. Centre on the road between Mojacar and Turre.  Near to the campsite on the way to Turre there is a sign that says “Campo de Futbol” and on the opposite side is the road that leads to L.O.T.U.S.  Turn into this road and take the second driveway on the right this leads to the centre.

OPEN DAY AT THE L.O.T.U.S. CENTRE MOJACAR

As the L.O.T.U.S. Yoga Centre Mojacar approaches its 3^rd birthday, amazingly there are still many people in Mojacar who haven’t heard about it. So they are inviting everyone to an Open Day to come and find out what great things are on offer there.  But first let’s tell you something about the centre.

The L.O.T.U.S. Yoga Centre is a non-profit organisation and offers the community many different yoga classes throughout the week, as well as various complementary therapies, meditation groups and classes, workshops, and Satsang – the coming together of like-minded people to share their understanding of spiritual life. The L.O.T.U.S. is completely supported by donations.  Classes are by donation (the teachers give their services free) and the members of Integral Yoga Almeria also give a certain amount each week or month to help maintain the Centre.  These amazing people also give their services freely to clean, garden and maintain the place so that everyone can enjoy this special home of Yoga.

As a charity, Integral Yoga Almeria also supports the local Children’s Home in Vera and has its own educational project for children in Sri Lanka which was set up by Padma Priya, the President, when she was in Sri Lanka shortly after the Tsunami.  This project gives the poorest children of one village extra tuition in 4 subjects and a proper cooked lunch and is changing the childrens’ prospects for a much brighter future and making a difference to the whole village. 

One of the aims of the Open Day is to raise money to not only support the L.O.T.U.S. Centre, but also to be able to give more money and resources to the Childrens’ Home in Vera and to help more of the poor children of Sri Lanka.  Some of the families there are living on less than 30 euros a month with 2 or 3 children to support – they often don’t have shoes or enough to eat – and they have no prospects of a better future.  The I.Y.A. project has already helped children to pass exams to go on to higher education and some of them have also been discovered to be very talented musically.  It is making a difference to people’s lives.  Eventually it is hoped to expand this project to ten villages.

So, what is L.O.T.U.S. Centre all about?  It’s about:

• Having a healthy, flexible easeful body through the practice of Hatha yoga and a calm and balanced mind and emotional life through the practice of Raja yoga and meditation. 

• It is about giving and serving the entire community, especially those less fortunate.

• For those of a spiritual inclination, there is the opportunity to explore your own connection with the Divine.

• And it’s about sharing the joy of life with everyone.

The open day will be an opportunity to discover for yourself what the centre has to offer, and to have fun. On the day there will be:

• Free Yoga Classes so you can find out if it’s for you – some in English and some in Spanish,  an extra gentle class, a beginners class, a relaxation class, a class for children, laughter yoga (yes we have fun doing yoga also!!)

So if you’ve ever thought of trying yoga – this is your chance.

There will also be lots of fun events: 

• An All Day Market with home made produce on sale (cakes, jam, bread, etc.), crystals and jewellery, books and tapes, mandala drawings, and lots of interesting things.

• A vegetarian Buffet Lunch (by donation)

• Sessions in various therapies such as Reiki, Shiatsu, Cranial sacral, Reflexology, Ayurvedic Facial Massage, Astrology readings and much more. (By donation)

• Talks on different topics.

• Sacred Circle dance.

• And a fantastic performance of belly dancing.

Come and join us on this inspiring and fun day, you will find a very warm welcome and lovely people.

Yoga Day Workshops are held on the first Saturday of each month from 10.30am to 5.30pm.  Please call Padma for details of each one and to book your place.  Cost 35 euros.

Satsang is held on the last Friday of each month at 6pm.

An opportunity to share silent meditation and the company of spiritual seekers.
